AYC Yacht Charter International Ltd. was established in 1987 by Harald Hummel (AYC-Vienna) and Wolfgang Pöppel (Ottobrunn near Munich) as the Adriatic AYC Yacht Club GmbH founded the Dalmatian yacht base in Germany Harald Hummel able to offer better.

1990 and 1991 followed by other bases in Icmeler / Mamaris in Turkey, Bon Aire Alcudia in Majorca and on Isla Margaria in Venezuela.
The bases are now available as a separate company in Gocek, Turkey and Pto.Alcudia-Mallorca and AYC Munich has been established as the international yacht charter agency.
