Bartram & Brakenhoff of Florida

J. Burr Bartram, Jr., and Bruce R. Brakenhoff, Sr. established the yacht brokerage firm of Bartram & Brakenhoff, in December of 1967, which at that time operated out of a single location in Greenwich, Connecticut, until 1980. Between 1980 and 1985 a second office was opened in Newport, Rhode Island, which then became the Corporate Headquarters and the Connecticut office was closed. In 1996, David C. Lacz joined the firm as a Yacht Broker working out of the Newport, RI office. In 1998, David C. Lacz, who has experience as a licensed Yacht Captain and Yacht Construction Consultant purchased the firm from Mr. Bartram and Mr. Brakenhoff, with the understanding that both gentlemen had the option to continue on as yacht brokers after a certain period of time. To the delight of all involved, both Mr. Bartram & Mr. Brakenhoff decided to continue on as yacht brokers and as of now, both gentlemen are actively working as yacht brokers servicing their clientele and acting as Yacht Consultants for the company. Since the new ownership in 2000, a Ft. Lauderdale office was added in order to service one of the largest yachting communities in the world in addition to the Newport, Rhode Island facility. In order to further service our clientele; Bartram & Brakenhoff opened its Charter Fleet and Management Division in 2003, based out of the Newport, RI office, managed by Pila Pexton. At the present time, Bartram & Brakenhoff has nine licensed yacht brokers, four assistants, IT staff and various yacht captains helping out and working between the two office locations. Bartram & Brakenhoff is always entertaining expansion of its staff and office locations.
